Appealing to Young Members
One of the challenge of any "old car" club is bringing in younger people. Many of the "oldsters" had Model As when they grew up, when they were just transportation cars. Today's youth have a much wider range of collector cars to choose from, including the 50s, 60s, and 70s classics, pony cars, and muscle cars. This page features articles from MAFCA chapters and others who are trying to appeal to those young people, to get them excited about Model A Fords (and older cars in general). MAFCA has a special Student Membership program. Click here to read more about it. |
Pasadena High School Model A Chapter The Pasadena High School Chapter of MAFCA was formed in 2016 as the first high school chapter in MAFCA history. Dr. Wilbert Smith, technical advisor, has worked with the members of the Santa Anita A's to mentor these teenagers and instill the joy of the Model A Hobby. Donations, local companies, and raffle ticket sales funds their program. The school district does not provide any funding.
